My name is Caroline Soper and I was born in Abilene, TX and then came to Austin with my parents at the age of ten. I attended John B. Connally High School & throughout my schooling played the clarinet in band. My father Jim first taught me to groom a toy poodle I had as a child and then I became an assistant groomer at PetSmart in 1999. Perfect Pooch Grooming was soon after born in 2001 and I began to groom part time with my father while attending college. I graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelor's of Liberal Arts Degree and began to work full time as a professional groomer at Perfect Pooch Grooming. I now have over 20 years of dog grooming experience and have obtained grooming certification by passing a written and demonstrative test from the National Dog Grooming Association of America (NDGAA). I routinely attend grooming conferences and seminars to further my expertise in the dog grooming industry.
In my spare time I have enjoyed playing the clarinet with the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble for over 10 years and have sung with local choral group Panoramic Voices for 5 years. I love spending time with & taking care of chihuahua Jake, my two cats, Jazzlyn and Taysia, and my indoor aquarium.
Jim (Kimo) Soper was born and raised in Hawaii. He holds certification from the National Dog Grooming Association of America, and has been grooming dogs professionally with daughter Caroline for over 19 years under the business name, Perfect Pooch Grooming. Jim has passed the examination for Veterinary Dental Technician and holds a certificate by the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians, and is certified in Animal First Aid and CPR. Jim has also worked as a Veterinary Technician under several veterinarians. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Colorado State University and subsequently worked for the State of Texas Health Department for 23 years as an inspector, and as Chief of the Youth Camp Licensing Program and Public Swimming Pool Inspection Program. In his free time Jim enjoys taking care of his dog Boo, hiking, tending his natural indoor aquarium, and maintaining his Natural Wildlife Federation"Certified Wildlife Habitat" home landscape and tropical outdoor fish ponds “Hawaiian-style”.
